Japanese law students? Hot.
I subscribe to Yaoi Daily. It's an interesting place. A lot of the manga they post (and forgive me if I get terminology slightly wrong, I'm a novice) isn't to my taste at all. I'm not so much into the shota or the hardcore bondage. I don't want my men to look like pixies, nor am I particularly interested in rape (by tentacles or otherwise). Price of Tennis and Full Metal Alchemist Doujinshi hold no interest for me.

But there are diamonds in the rough! I would like to declare my love for all things by the artist Yoshinaga Fumi.

'Ichigenme wa yaruki no minpou,' in particular. I'm sure it's available for download at the Aarinfantasy.com forums, or you can subscribe to yaoi_daily and scroll back to the November 18th posting, where you can follow the link back to the first in the series. (Warning: if you have dialup, it will be Slllooowwww.)

It's the tender love story of two law students (one with insanely pretty, curly hair, the other with sexual hang-ups). I love the way the characters are drawn, I like the story, I love the relationship between the characters--I really can't gush enough. I've got 'Antique Bakery', another by the same artist, on order from Amazon.

I changed my icon in tribute. (For a bit, only. I like the big 'C' too much to let it go.) *Happy sigh*

(In other news, Merry Smutmas stories are being posted soon! Yay! And also, augh! But mostly, yay!)

Thanks for the manga recs; I'll pass them on to my friend who lives for anime & manga.

(In other news, Merry Smutmas stories are being posted soon!

Yaye, squared! The tide of stories over the month made my December better in 2004.

It's good stuff. Very romance-y, without being cloying and heavy-handed. Sexy, too. If they published it in English, I'd so order it. As it is now, we've got to depend on the translation groups.

I only hope my story gets posted early, that way I'll stop worrying about it. :) No matter what my gift ends up being, there'll be something good there to read. It'll be so nice. (I keep telling myself that that's why there's such a dearth of fic right now.)

I didn't tumble to it until recently. The fic posting has been light since August, regarding the range of writers I follow on LJ.

Merry Smutmas starts tonight! Whoo-hoo!

Santa bunny! That's adorable, by the way.

Santa bunny seemed just right for holiday fic comments. The icon is by [info]khushi_icons and is for sharing.

Oooh, this looks good! I like them to look a bit more adultish too, so I'll test this one out. Whee.

She draws the bestest-ever hands. Really. And she's more realistic--no crazy anime eyes. Her boys are so handsome. *Shoos* Go, read!

Did you read Gerard et Jacques by Fumi as well? It was also posted on Yaoi Daily. The one you mentioned is the best, though; it's so well established. Who couldn't love a computer nerd with such fabulous hair?

I have Antique Bakery; I bought it at Borders Express. It is good, but only seems like the beginning of a story. I hope there's more to come!

I did, mostly, and liked it, though it didn't resonate with quite the same intensity. I think because they're both such good-hearted people in Ichigenme.

Oh, Toudou's hair? A thing of brilliance. Also, I'm a total sucker for fics/manga that will fast-forward and show a lasting (if slightly fucked-up) relationship. I love that it gets longer and she lets his moustache come in a bit. :)

I heard Antique Bakery is a series, and that the first ones weren't slashy-heavy. But heck, that's all right, so long as we get there someday.

I don't know whether to curse you or hug you. I am now COMPLETELY addicted to the Hot Japanese Law Students Manga (to such an extent that I am now at MY OFFICE trying to decide whether the doubtless thoroughly NOT WORKSAFE latest post of it could be readable if I like, went intoa meeting room with my laptop...).

*Dies laughing* Oh, come on, it's worth it! You could totally help enlighten your workplace, too. ...Naked Japanese law students...

*Hugs Toudou and Tamiya* I just looked at the latest post--so sexy. Wish to god it was in English! (Not that God is too concerned with providing me translated smut, but, hey.) I like his haircut. More appropriate for his maturing seme-ness, though I have such a weakness for the clean-faced, hair clipped up version we see in the first two volumes.

Actually, while I do love Tamiya/Toudou (especially the HAIR), I *really* love the storyline between Toudou Jr/Itou. I find Tamiya just annoying sometimes (like, dude! you KNOW you fancy the guy! get over the shyness already!) whereas the little professor guy is just adorable. ("I'm so devious! I have invited the brilliant student to come EAT CAKE, OMG!") I downloaded the whole of Gerard et Jacques as well, and I know some of her other stuff is on the net somewhere - I just have to find it.

As for looking at it at work - even if my bandwidth usage weren't monitored, I have two Japanese colleagues who sit right behind me.... Maybe not a good idea to alert them to my BoyLove fixation. ;)

Itou is a 'brilliant' mastermind, I'll give you that. :)

Yeah, probably be good to be careful with the yaoi around the folk who might recognize it. (Though, you never know, you could be around a fellow fan... Probably best not to risk it.)
