From FF.net, a review I love:

"i like this story! it's awesome. nothing scary and bloody! yay!
happy new year"

For SLWM. (My exact thoughts on many stories I read.)

Yeah, so I was totally pegged by everyone on The Fourth Year. :) I blame the dashes. I was writing it right up to the wire--I turned it in literally minutes before midnight on the deadline. I probably won't repost it here for a few days because it needs smoothing and polishing in a couple of places (forgive me, betas, for I have sinned--I ran out of time for all your wonderful corrections, and want to put them in).

And hey, go check out the gift fic for me from [info]odogoddess, Circumstances & Second Chances. Snape/Ron, very creative response to my request, all-around awesome. I don't know if I've managed to convey it properly (and I seem to keep sticking my foot in my mouth about it in comments, personal failing). Tis good. Go read. *Luffs*

Everybody owes Gina massive love for the fest. (Uhh... I was going to write something for Smutmas_Elves, but it unexpectedly turned into a Snarry fic with Snape wearing women's underwear. I'll let y'all know when I finish it--it's turned out a little cracked.)

Oh! I didn't know you wrote Fourth Year! I should have, though - it was one of the best Snarry's I've read since...well, 'So Lonely Without You'. ;) The soap opera obsession was a nice touch.

:D Thank you! That came from me trying to figure out what the heck Snape would do all day. I tried to keep him to prison-ish pasttimes--chores, smoking, TV. :)

I guessed immediately you wrote "The Fourth Year." It was the short joke about Harry that was the main clue. Also, the lovely funny dialogue.

Wonderful story. Thank you for writing and sharing it. :)

Oh, darn, that's right! In my universe, Harry is always short. There's nothing I can do about it. Snape is always taller (even in Remus fics). Just a thing. Thank you! :)

You think it was the dashes, do you? Bwa ha ha ha. It was NOT the dashes. It was your amazing Snape and your poor Harry.

What tipped me off is the fact that it was a LONG Snarry fic, posted early and therefore written to deadline. I know of very few writers that can do that. *g*

Okay, *first* it was the wonderful writing and characterizations and humor...

...but then it was the fact that you were the only Snape/Harry writer/reader who *hadn't* commented on the story (and believe me, everybody I know checked *G*). Personally, I think we all ought to comment on our own stories, if only to throw people off the scent!

Heh. I didn't guess, because I seem to not know you. I don't know why this is. *commences to rectify*

However, heh, I use emdashes--like this, no space surrounding--a lot, and have to try HARD not to for anon things. ...I also ellipse a lot, and that, I failed at. I did manage to not use -- also to separate sections in mine, but it nearly killed me.

In any case, the fic killed me DEAD and I have kept thinking of it, so yay. :)

Heh, I'm with Flora--when I was making my guesses, I thought , "it can only be so-and-so if s/he's disguising his/her punctuation." And then everyone was saying your name on the guessing post and I said, "Wait. I know that name. Why do I not know that name as well as I feel I should?" It was, like, annoying to have these people know you better than I did, bah! *is selfish*

Dear, I was one of the reviewers of "The Fourth Year", which was the story that absolutely made my Christmas, fic-wise. It was awesome - and just to make things funny, I recommended it to my friend who loved your "So Lonely Without Me" - and said "You'll love this anonymous fic just as much".

Although I must say I was hoping that TFY would be by some author I never knew so I could have a new author to watch ;)

Thank you for TFY. It was awesome, realistic and emotionally painful with some great smut at the end - just the way I like my fiction. And I should have guessed it was yours.

*Sends love from Poland, hopes it does not get lost on the way*

Alas, I am not two people. (Though sometimes you'd think so.) Ha! There was a rec list around christmas, and someone put this and So Lonely right next to it--I sniffled a little. Aw.

Your love from Poland has made it safely to my American heart! And it made a squishy sound.

Yay! I was right it was you! Actually, it was nothing so plebian as your em-dashes that I recognized - it was the "locked in" thing that you do so brilliantly. The feeling of them both being stifled by their physical surroundings, by Harry's fame, by their shared history. "The Fourth Year" just screamed your name the second I read it.

I was like the knitting needle in the very, very small haystack. :) I still blame my emdashes.

Oh, yeah, I guess you have a point about the similar themes. :) Still, it's the easiest way to get a romance--the Lifeboat method. Requires less characterization and setting.

Thankee!

There's a particular taste to the way you write Snape/Harry that I learned from So Lonely Without Me that flavoured The Fourth Year - something about how you see so clearly into their heads, how you catch their hearts, how they grow into each other. I loved Fourth Year and have probably read it a dozen times now. It well and truly on my list of favourites and one I'll come back to again and again. And I must remember to send emails on a regular basis telling you I'm still reading it. Brilliant work.

Hee, The Fourth Year *rocked*. I had no idea who wrote it, because I'm rather terrible at remembering specific fics to specific authors *unless* the pairing is a rare one or there is something really unusual in the story (oh, yeah - that Snape fucks Harry as they're riding Buckbeak over a sparkly rainbow whilst reciting romantic haiku's fic? Sorry, never heard of it. ;)) and even then I might misremember. Brain fog. Can't live with it, can't see through it, can't remember a beastly thing without my pda and post-it notes.

In re: my story, I'm just glad you liked it. I posted it to my LJ now, so it has a snuggly new home. :)

Yeah, there are about three or four authors I can keep straight in my head. The others I have to look up.

Snape/Harry on Buckbeak... *Is dead* Wait, no, I have to read it now. *Googles*

Snape in women's underwear owes something to Diana Williams, I have to say. He's just pretty like that. *Pets Snape* ...Okay, I'm going into a weird area.

I know I've read your stories--read something, anyway, but your name just wasn't one that rang specific bells with me, and when the "guess the authors" post came out and your name started being attached to The Fourth Year, I ran over to your lj, read some snatches of fic, and said, "Okay, I don't have this person friended WHY?" (Remedied that right away. ^_^). I still can't properly express how much I loved The Fourth Year. It's an insta-classic; I hope we haven't failed to get that across!

I left a comment for your wonderful story at [info]merry_smutmas but wanted to say again how much I love TFY.

I printed it out, and I've read it quite a few times - it's becoming my comfort fic already!

I love your Snape and Harry in this story very much indeed. I was going to write some of my favourite Snape lines, but there are way too many to post here! Oh, okay, maybe just one: "I'm going to show you something so lovely." I think I melted as much as Harry was sure to have done, when I read that.

Don't worry, I'm shit at feedback, too. There are only about five people out there who are really good at it, I think.
